Brock Beck

Brock is the silver "B" in our Fallinstars logo because Brock is our bright, shooting star from Heaven guiding us and leading the way.

Brock Cameron Beck was the 20 year old son of the Founder of "Project Courage" and creator of Fallinstars.org Barry Beck.

Brock graduated from Nova Scotia Community College with a degree in Mental Health Studies and Recovery. He was a caring young man and had made great strides in starting his future career, in school and in community outreach programs. He wanted to continue with his studies and deepen his knowledge and training in this extremely important field. Brock was compassionate towards people and through stories from family and friends, he always made time to listen and did his best so nobody felt alone.

We will honour Brock by continuing his journey and create a legacy for him powered by strength, positivity and light.

Former NHL player Mark Pavelich

Mark Pavelich

The Gold "M" in our Fallinstars logo is in honour of Barry's close friend and NHL teammate Mark Thomas Pavelich. He was an American professional Hockey player from 1980-1991, also an important member of the 1980 U.S. Hockey Team.

It was Pavelich's quick pass to Mike Eruzione that helped them advance to the next round and win Gold for the U.S.A, known to many as the "Miracle on Ice" game. Mark's contributions and hockey skills were awe inspiring and have deemed him to be forever called "an American Hero". Although knowing how quiet and humble Mark was off the ice, according to family and friends, he would feel uncomfortable with that title.

Barry and Mark’s compassion for others became their vision and goal. Even at times when Mark couldn’t speak out, Barry became "Mark's eyes and voice". Their dream "The Ranch-Teammates for Life", with the help of an amazing group of people, has become a reality and continues to move forward.

Our journey continues as well; to view and manage mental health in positive ways through education and presentation.
